Choosing to remodel your jewellery is not simply making something new, we regard it as honouring the past while protecting the future.

How we work with your recycled metal

We work with your recycled jewellery in two ways: Remodelling or Recycling.

Remodelling Your Metal

Many customers choose to transform their unworn silver and gold jewellery into a stunning new piece. Remodelling a piece means we design and make a bespoke piece for you or we can customise one of our existing designs for you. We’re very conscious that your jewellery has its very own story, so each piece is carefully assessed before we start work. We make sure we honour the past while breathing new life into your new piece of sentimental jewellery. 

Most solid silver and gold jewellery can be transformed into new jewellery. We work with sterling silver, 9ct, 18ct and 22ct gold, melting, milling or casting your metal into a new ring, pair of earrings, cufflinks or necklace. Remodelling a piece is charged at our hourly labour rate whether we work in silver or gold. We always give you a quote before we start work on your new piece and will advise at that time should any additional metal be needed to make the design or stabilise the piece. The cost of a piece will depend upon the amount of time needed to make it for you, for example a simple piece such as a band ring made from your melted down metal will start from £90. More complex and labour intensive pieces are priced accordingly and we always quote a final cost before any work starts.

 

Recycling Your Metal

We can recycle your unwanted silver, gold vermeil or solid gold jewellery and give you a store credit to the value of your scrap metal. We test, weigh and assess your metal, refer to the scrap price of the gold or silver on the day that we receive your metal, and advise you of the value less our 15% handling fee. If you agree to go ahead, we give you a store credit which can be used to purchase any piece in our store or applied as a credit against a bespoke order. We send all recyclable scrap to our refiners in Birmingham where it is repurposed into precious metal grain, sheet and wire.
